Anaiya Pic set 1
My good friend and neighbor, Courtney, recently decided to go abroad for a term (YIPPEE!!) in New Zealand, and she asked me to do something for her while she is away. See, Courtney has a 4 year-old daughter, Anaiya, and while leaving her for four months is one of the hardest things she will ever have to do, Courtney felt this opportunity was too much to pass up. Its a good thing that Courtney is fortunate enough to have a great mother and family who is willing to help out with Anaiya while mom sees the world. So Courtney asked if I could get some pictures of her lovely daughter up while she was gone so she doesn't have to go the whole time without seeing her precious child. So this is me happily obliging. (I was going to make Courtney and Anaiya their own page, but I decided it would be much simpler to add them to my already existing fotopage. Maybe this will get me using it for my own use again.)
Courtney, I apologize for the lack of punctuality with the fotopage. I have no real excuse and I will be more proficient at getting pictures of your daughter up in the future. I hope this suffices for now and I will do my best to keep up a good job in the future. Best wishes to you in New Zealand!!!

Apology
Not that I think this is the most widely visited site or anything, but I wanted to apologize for not putting anything new up in a while. I've been pretty busy, what with moving out of my room, travelling to Oslo, moving into a new room, and just getting ready to leave and all that. So yeah, I just wanted to say that sometime, maybe not that soon, but sometime, I will be putting up some very nice pictures I've taken, so there's no need to fret. Thanks for looking at my fotopage and I hope you all are sure to check out my new entries.

Up Mt. Løvstakken
On this particular Friday, Marit, Celine and I decided to take an evening trek up the nearest of the seven mountains around Bergen -- Mt. Løvstakken. We wanted to get up there to see the sunset, and so we started up the mountain around 8 pm. It took us about an hour and a half up and then we spent about an half hour at the top playing around and taking pics and watching the wonderful sunset -- it was truly gorgeous, as you will see from the pics. And then it took about an hour or so to get down, which was at times scary because when were in thick growth it was pretty much completely black!!! EEK!! Anyways, we got down safely and with all of our limbs in tact. And my hands regained feeling on the way back after losing most on the way up -- not sure why. Anyways, it was great and when I got back I ate like a wooly mammoth for the several lbs I probly lost.
HA DET!!!!
p.s. My camera died right as I was about to take my first pic on the top of the mountain What the heck!?!?! Luckily, the camera Celine was using used the same memory card and I could just download them on my own computer- lucky me ADIOS
p.p.s. Also, for the aforementioned reason, the pics are not in order. Sheesh, give a guy a break, will ya?!

Easter Dinner

The meal itself- or at least what was left of it

MMMMMM....MEAT!!!

Crazy about MEAT!!!
Here at Fantoft, there's not a whole lot of people around nowadays, what with it being the Easter holidays and all(by the way, Norwegians take FAR too much time off for Easter, especially since they don't even practice hardly) and most people are on some sort of trips or something, so Marit and I decided to at least make our own little dinner together. It was a big piece of meat, a bunch of mashed potatoes, and surkål(kind of like sauerkraut, but not as sour- or krauty- but very tasty even coming from a package). I was looking forward to it all weekend and it did not disappoint! It was lovely and I could have eaten more. Well, I will eat more, as there are two more meals left for each of us. anyways, we got a little excited about our hunks of meat, and took some pictures- enjoy!!

With my geography class we took a short day trip to an island group a little northwest of Bergen called Ã?ygarden. On a low tide day, there is around 500 islands- or so they say. Our teacher said we visited around 15-20 on this particular trip and we had a grand old time, more or less. It was nice, and VERY organized, as our teacher had times down to the minute, from eating to museum visits to picture taking time.
Among the highlights of the day was when we took the ferry out to an island with no more than 20 inhabitants-20!!! It was kind of unreal to think that there are places that have that few people living there. I mean, there were probably more houses on the island than people! There is one student and they make the ferry ride every day to go to class, even though there is a schoolhouse on the island. At the museum we visited, I fell asleep while watching a video, and really enjoyed my lunch that I packed :b. Other than that, we spent a lot of time in the bus just looking at stuff and made a couple little stops to walk around a bit.

My New Sweater!!!!
Check that out
Wow. I didn't realize how sexy that was
Today, Marit did some laundry. Normally, that wouldn't be worthy of an entry, but I am willing to make an exception this time. I am willing to make an exception because she made a mistake in her laundry doing today. She shrunk one of her sweaters bigtime and the world is now reaping the benefits of me trying on this unusually small sweater that one might normally find at Baby Gap. So without further ado, here are the ensuing photographic results.
HA DET!!!
p.s. My large belly is due in part to the fact that I have been eating a little more and a little worse than I would normally because I plan on starting the Body-for-Life program come monday and want to indulge beforehand as well as look a little worse. But don't you fret, come 12 weeks from now, it will be six-pack fever in my neck of the woods!! WUTWUT!!!
p.p.s. I forgot to say that I went up to the 18th floor and hung out with 7 girls wearing that outfit after trying modeling it for my 5 female flatmates. Then I stopped by another floor who was eating sushi and showed off my new look. Not because I think I looked good(because I know I didn't), but just because it either makes people laugh or makes them think I am dumb, and I will take either one- ya'll know how I do ADIOS

On another Sunday walk, the Bergen sky lit up, as it often does, and I decided to get a few shots of some of what I consider beauty.

Two (blurry) Austrians- Constantine and Ursula

This week, Ursula told me that she was going to a cabin for the weekend with some friends. I said pencil me in. Well, after we had a place, then didn't have a place, then had a place again, we ended up in a cabin near a mountain -- two, actually (Furedalen and Aikedalen). And unbeknownst to me before the day we left, this was goin to be a snowboarding or skiing trip -- right on. I've just started, but I totally dig it. We got there Saturday, and went to Furedalen that night. It was only my second time going, mind you, so I still absolutely sucked (still do, in fact). But they didn't have a chair lift, which I didn't think would be a problem, but it was. I couldn't do it. I tried and tried again, and never got it. A Norwegian guy even came up to me and called me a bad person (in Norwegian) for being a "grown man and not even being able to stand on skis" -- yeah, um, ok. Take it easy there, buddy. I wasn't born with skis on my feet, like you(and it was a snowboard, but whatever). But I eventually went with somebody else and that went fine. It was a night ski and there were lights on the mountain and on my last time down it was pretty much just me, and it was really stinking sweet.
We went home, had a few beers, and had a merry old night. Unfortunately for me, I was the only native English speaker(although all could speak it) who stayed up late and so I was there when all these Germans and Austrians were laughing heartily and having fun. I was having fun, too, just a different kind of fun. Once in a while someone spoke to me in engelsk, but it was a frenzy of German for the most part. I told a couple jokes, too, but yeah, lots of German/Austrian. Oh, and there were about 25 of us, plus a family that was also in the cabin at the time.
Next day we went to Aikedalen, a mountain down the road a bit. Conditions sucked, and I don't think I really improved much, if any. The mountain was pure ice, and that made for now such favorable rides down the mountain. I crashed with some other girl on her snowboard once, but it honestly was just as much her fault as it was mine. But it was ok.
Didn't take pics until the last hour of the trip, and they stunk. More than anything, just wanted to relay this trip I had with you all. So here's a few pics, and yeah, here ya go.
HA DET!!!
p.s. I wore the exact same clothes from the time I left Fantoft to the time I showered , didn't change em for sleep, nothin. Ha ha. Didn't even get into my bag except for my protein bars and tuna fish, . You know me -- gotta have my protein. And I surprisingly didn't stink too badly by the end (but I did stink a little-- heck, I'm not THAT miraculous). ADIOS
